The sidewall is pretty stiff so they are great on the track, the compound is very soft though so don't expect them to last long. The RA1's last about 3X as long with just a little less grip, but they have a weaker sidewall. In full tread form they are "ok" for rain, once you wear down 1 of the grooves or to the wear markers I wouldn't trust them on a slick street surface. Also in full tread form they have a bit of a tread squirm, I won't be buying another set without shaving them. I've always found the RE01R or RE11 (replacement) to be an excellent street tire. Pretty stiff, good wear, great in rain. Not as much grip and can get greasy on the track, but a good street tire. Another very grippy tire is the Yoko A048. I'd say it's almost as good as an R888 in all conditions, but wears a bit faster. The only reason I mention it is because alot of the Yoko dealers have a killer sale on them through the end of the month trying to reduce inventory. Good tire, I just didn't get as many track days out of them. Just for the record, track day = road course for me, not 1/4 mile or autocross. Always best to clarify. :)
